Day 1 Arrival at Queen Alia International airport in Amman
After arrival at the airport in Amman, our representative will meet & assist you with the visa & customs formalities, which usually needs not more than ½ an hour. Transfer to the hotel in Amman, which takes about 45 minutes. After arrival at the hotel, check-in, dinner & overnight.
Day 2 City tour in Amman - Jerash & Ajlun
After breakfast, we drive into the city for a city tour in the old part and in the modern part of Amman. We visit the king Abdullah mosque, the citadel with the archaeological museum as well as the well-preserved Roman theatre. Proceed to Jerash, one of the best-preserved ruin cities of the Roman world. The colonnade road, large Roman theatres and churches will tell all the history of this commercial town. On our much further north, we visit the castle ruin of Salahedin - Ajlun, which lies on a 1250m high mountain. It originates from that 12. Century and is particularly impressing with its five floors. Return trip to Amman, Dinner & overnight.
Day 3 Madaba, Mount Nebo, Bethany and the Dead Sea
Today we leave Amman and drive to Madaba, where we will visit the unique mosaic map of old Palestine from the 6. Century in the St. Georges church. Afterwards we go further to Mount Nebo wherefrom Moses saw for the first time the "Holy land", on a clear summer day you can see Jerusalem from here. We proceed to the site of John the Baptist's settlement at Bethany beyond the Jordan, where Jesus was baptized, which has long been known from the Bible (John 1:28 and 10:40) and from the Byzantine and medieval texts. The site has now been identified on the east bank of the Jordan River, in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and is being systematically surveyed, excavated, restored, and prepared to receive pilgrims and visitors in early 2000. Finally, we go further south to the Dead Sea, 400m under sea level, where we will have the possibility for a unique bath experience. Dinner & overnight
Day 4 Free for leisure, afternoon Kerak & Petra
Half day free for leisure. Enjoy the day at the Dead Sea to swim, where even non-swimmers cannot go down! Or take a sun bath at the beach of the Dead Sea. Afternoon we proceed to the impressive crusaders castle Kerak from the 12. century. Kerak lies on the ancient King's Highway, 75 miles south of Amman, Jordan. The remaining castle, 4,300 feet above sea level, is imposingly situated on an almost isolated hilltop, and commands a magnificent view in all directions, especially towards the Dead Sea. Finally, after the sightseeing, we drive further to Petra. Dinner & overnight
Day 5 The antique city of Petra
Put on some firm shoes today, because a full day sightseeing of Petra is in our program. Experience this impressive and unique Nabatean city, "a true wonderwork"! We pass the 1,5km famous "Siq" (ravine) on foot and see the impressive, from red-rose sandstone curved 40m high treasure house "Al Khazna". Admire hundreds of buildings, Fronts, Graves, Baths, Temples and unforgettable stone drawings - Petra extends on a total area of approx... 40qkm. Dinner & overnight. We also have the possibility to go to Wadi Rum, the desert valley of the Bedouins, which is surrounded by brown-red, fissured and torn mountain courses. We will have an adventurous 1½ - 2-hour jeep safari through Wadi Rum (Disi). Count the stars in the clear sky after an unforgettable sunset. Dinner & overnight in Wadi Rum or Aqaba
Day 6 Free for leisure
Enjoy the shopping streets of Aqaba, swimming, snorkeling or take a dive into the crystal-clear water, or you take simply a sunbath at the beach of the Red Sea. A beautiful and interesting underwater world of corals and fish lies a few meters from the beach away. Dinner & overnight
Day 7 Via Wadi Araba back to Amman
Today we will leave Aqaba heading back to Amman via Wadi Araba. Dinner & overnight in Amman
Day 8 Return back home
Unfortunately, it goes back home today, we hope, that you enjoyed an unforgettable journey with us. Transfer to the airport in Amman, our representative takes over again the departure and customs formalities and says goodbye to you.
